Julia, Nemo, and Mike are back to discuss the varying accounts of the three men who supposedly saw Joseph’s “gold plates” that eventually became the Book of Mormon. What did they say about what they REALLY saw?

I miss Mike’s presentations.
I have a penchant for writing and speaking the obvious. All this spiritual witnessing. If the plates were real physical objects why didn’t the three witnesses have the opportunity to see them without the spiritual baggage? Why the “second sight” approach to this witnessing? Why not present them to a dispassionate qualified person? Harris did take a copy of some of the characters to a scientist of some note, why not take a page of the gold book to the same scientist?. I keep thinking of the reality of the Dead Sea Scrolls, vs this vaporous way of dealing with supposed ancient artifacts. Once again the application of faith raises it all too convenient head.
Nemo clearly doesn’t understand what Oaks said about the salamander. You cannot use what Oaks said to defend the possibility of Jesus appearing as a deer.
Sorry bud.
