Isn’t an assumption of costly signaling that it is more costly for a imposter to perform the signal than a true believer? I can go to the temple to gain people’s trust but If I don’t actually believe then It is more costly for me because I don’t get as much from the ceremony.
I am thrilled there is another member of the church that also believes that the prophet is NOT speaking for God every time his lips move! If members would just understand this one thing, I think life in the church and our history makes more sense. Thanks for sharing !
