I was so frustrated when they were addressing the equality of (or lack thereof) of women in the church! I would love for someone to have said that the representation of women in the church that we are to emulate is that of a largely absent Heavenly Mother! Not only can we not pray to her but our goal is to become gods and goddesses like our Heavenly parents according to the temple endowment. However, if we look to her and our relationship with her – per church guidance we are not permitted to have a relationship with her like we are encouraged to with our Heavenly Father. So we are working to be righteous, to meet all of the criteria of being a heavenly mother who becomes totally absent to our “earthly” children when we become a goddess. So yay me – I get to work to be a mother but hold not enough importance to be part of the eternal picture in my “children’s” lives. That is how equal and important we are in this church!!!! URGHHHH!!!
