or even better:
“John co-opts Steven Hassan interview to draw hundreds of parallels to the Moonies”
I listened to this episode a day after two women came to my door wanting to “share about their church that believes in God the mother.” The declined to provide any information on the group or specific organization the belonged and declined any paperwork that I could look at. The were adamant that they had news to share and continued to try to get me to meet with them to find out more. I seemed very “off”. I was suspicious with the lack of transparency and urgency. I declined and for the rest of the day couldn’t shake the strange feeling I got. When I started listening to this podcast I was immediately moved to look up the doctrine on line and found the are also associated with a “church” founded in Korea and had similar doctrine as the Moonies. I belong to a church The UCC a local church affiliated with the United Church of Christ. It is a progressive Christian church that also is open to the feminine side of God. But I knew something was wrong with the brief interaction with these two women when the declined any detour any literature. So glad I followed my instincts. And so creepy when I heard this episode and later confirmed the teachings of this group “God the mother “ as a recruitment to a suspected cult similar to the organization of the Moonies. Thanks for this episode.
