Mormon Stories Listeners/Supporters,
If you can, please take the time to listen to the strategy announcement below. A few important highlights:
- We are shifting our emphasis back to podcasts for the next few years. Podcast changes include the following:
- Mormon Stories will add:
- A monthly book club discussion with authors (please purchase your books through Mormon Stories if you can)
- A monthly discussion panel on current events in Mormonism
- An increased emphasis on practical and transition issues within Mormonism
- Mormon Matters, Mormon Stories Sunday School and A Thoughtful Faith will continue their respective awesomness — please, please, please support these podcasts financially if you can.
- A few new podcasts are in development:
- Mormon Mental Health, led by Natasha Helfer Parker (The Mormon Therapist)
- Gay Mormon Stories (looking for a leader…we have a fantastic support team already assembled), and
- Former Mormon Stories, led by Matthew Nokleby.
- Mormon Stories will add:
- We are looking to do a web site redesign to make our content more easily searchable and usable. Please donate time/skills or financially if you are able to support.
- I am considering the creation of a Facebook support group separate from the main Mormon Stories Facebook Support Group specifically designated for people who are committed to making the church work in their lives. This group could be a home for believing MS listeners, along with Mormon Matters, A Thoughtful Faith, and Mormon Stories Sunday School listeners. If you are interested in this option, please email me.
- We will no longer be holding monthly conferences (ran out of time/energy/money), but we are open to holding occasional conferences in the future, depending on interest, resources and support.
- Communities are free to organize their own conferences, and we are happy to provide ideas, speakers, and advertising as we can.
- To keep Mormon Stories and the other podcasts alive, please support us financially if you can at our respective web sites. This is super important.
Thanks!
John Dehlin
FYI, the Phoenix Community has already completed this transition process, and things have gone very smoothly. Existing MoSto groups over a certain size may encounter some obstacles in renaming their FB group, and perhaps some other challenges. We are happy to share how we made this transition, so if you have questions please feel free to shoot me an email:

How do we go about joining the Gay Mormon Stories Group? Have you found a leader yet?

John,
How about a Totally Die-in-the-wool true-blue-through-and-through TBM Mormon Stories?
I believe that’s known as “church,” Tyler.
