You nailed it. You knocked it out of the park. I had not fully grasped the role of religious indoctrination in sexual shame. It explains the isolation, the members’ vulnerability, their inability to extricate themselves from abusive authority, and the awful impediment to airing the truth. Wow. This IS an ongoing tragedy.
