For this interview with Donna and Michael Showalter, we will hear the story of the Showalter family’s Mormon journey, which includes living in very conservative Provo, Utah, Michael coming out as gay, and Donna’s journey to fully accept/embrace/love/celebrate Michael.

We will also learn about Donna’s decision to become involved with Encircle—the LGBTQ+ family and youth resource centers that are expanding their footprint throughout the state of Utah—and how she came to fully emulate the center’s motto of “No Sides, Only Love.”

Donna’s epic Mormon Story—a heart-wrenching tale of when one of the Mormon church’s “best and brightest” women loses her faith, may be found here:

    Hello,

What a great story. Chosing love over illogical nonsense was a brilliant move.

Michael is a great guy and so are his parents.

I cried. Love is far more powerful than dogma. What a great family.
