  1. John, I really enjoyed this interview. Jenny would make a great candidate for president someday. Jenny, you are really qualified. Having a less than active LDS candidate running for such a high office in such a Mormon majority state may set a precedent of sorts. We’ll see.

I live in the western Idaho which, according to Church records, is 24% LDS. This spring there was a primary with three main republican candidates for governor. Two of those three were active LDS, but the non-Mormon candidate, although the current lieutenant governor, won. But the real startler for me was the democrat primary, the loser of which was an LDS fellow. The winner to face the republican, was a Native American woman. Paulette Jordan. In a heavy Mormon population state, it is very unusual for a woman to run. but even more unusual for a Native American and this lady is only in her 30’s, but has quite a bit of legislative experience and is on a tribal council. Maybe you could interview her. And Jenny, maybe you could contact her and give her some encouragement. I am very impressed with both women and these two will cause me to change my support to the democrat party, and I used to be a super-patriotic last-days active LDS.

  2. I hope you win Jenny! I really like the things you are focused on. Senator Hatch has been away so long in DC, it is hard to think of him as a Utahn anymote. I will be sharing this interview and your name.

  3. She supported Hillary Clinton, the worst candidate for President in any of our lifetimes, who was outflanked on the left by a right wing fascist. She claims to like Bernie Sanders but thinks he’s the wrong messenger. He’s the most popular politician in the country and the Democratic party keeps distancing themselves from him. Jenny is typical of the weak, unconvinced of their own policies, brand of Democrat and she will unfortunatley lose big to a carpet bagger like Romney because she makes his conservative arguments for him. Why would anybody vote for somebody who says the other guy is right 90% of the time? Fight for Democratic/Liberal/Progressive/Populist ideas if you’re a Democrat.

  4. Why would mitt Romney come and be interviewed by John Dehlin, and most of his audience are not conservative, not active Mormon, and mostly those who have left the church. When Romney is just the opposite. I have my issues with Romney as well. But I can see why it would be senseless for him to be interviewed on this program.

  5. I was very impressed with Jenny and her stance on issues right up until said she couldn’t speak to the statistics of sex abuse in Utah. She’s been saying again and again how she loves Utah and will fight for Utah but she isn’t educated on the issues of sex abuse in this state? By the way, one in three women in Utah will experience sex abuse. Utah has a lower crime rate than the national average for all crimes EXCEPT sexually violent crimes which are HIGHER than the national average. I know that and I’m not running for office. It is a huge pervasive problem here in Utah and I find it deeply disappointing that a liberal, progressive, woman candidate doesn’t seem to be educated on this issue. Or maybe for some reason felt it was too controversial to address? Either way, hugely disappointing.
