I guess I have no idea if anyone is really listening to this podcast (other than a few who have contacted me), but for those who are, and who subscribe to this blog, I wanted to apologize.  Last night I realized that the server I was hosting my mp3’s on was really dragging, so I’ve moved my mp3’s to another server, where download times should improve.

Unfortunately, this is gonna cause the mp3’s to redownload in iTunes.  I’m super duper sorry for the inconvenience.  I’m still learning on this whole podcast deal.

Anyway, thanks for you patience.  I’m recording a new podcast today, so hopefully it will be out by Sunday.

I’ve only listened to the one show. But don’t you have software to keep track of how many downloads you get? I know over at LDS Slant (the other main LDS podcast) they were getting I think 200 – 300 downloads. (Although obviously as more and more people discover podcasting even the older ones are heard)

When tracking numbers, it depends on who is hosting your files, and what kind of stats they give you. I host all my mp3s at libsyn.com, which I heartily recommend. They are able to track how many downloads I have, and how they were downloaded, via iTunes, iPodder, direct, etc… Also, since I use feedburner, they are able to tell me how many people at any given point in time, are subscribed to my feed. But feed numbers don’t reflect actual downloads, since people are dropping and adding your feed everyday.

Keep up the great work John. Some days it feels like “what’s the point?”, at least I have felt that way many times, especially when things aren’t working right. But you get that occassional email that gives you the energy to continue, and realize it’s all worth it.
