Mormon Stories’ highest priority is helping people through tough Mormon transitions.  We are here to help you.  Until a couple of years ago, John was able to offer individual support to people experiencing the life crises that result from faith transitions.  He was able to answer all of his email and make personal phone calls and visits.  Unfortunately, the the number of people in crisis has grown significantly and John finds that he is no longer able to personally keep up with the needs of the community.  He is sad that he can no longer to respond to everyone.

Even so, all are welcome to email John directly at MormonStories@gmail.com.  He will do his best to answer. He is aware, however, that a short note from him will do little to meet your needs.  If you do receive a short answer or no answer at all, please know that he respects your privacy and will not forward personal emails to other members of the Mormon Stories team.  If you would like more support, please let John know that it is okay with you if he shares your needs with others; he will not do so unless you explicitly give him permission.  If you choose to allow him to share, it may be that we can find resources to help you.  Again, please know that John is very sorry that he cannot be there for everyone.

In an effort to respond to the growing need for support, Mormon Stories has created the Mormon Stories Regional Support Communities.  Many have used the communities to find friends in their immediate areas with whom they can authentically share the issues they are struggling with.  We are hopeful that support can be found and lasting friendships can be made.

We also have new projects on the horizon that we hope will assist with the growing demands. A podcast on the subject of dealing with faith crises can be found here.

You are not alone….. not even close.  Many are walking in your shoes.

Much Love,

The Mormon Stories Team

  1. I have listening religiously for the past 2 months and find it very refresh to know that more about the History of our church. I am struggling right now after have served in very High places within the church. I would like to know the status on Grant Palmer ( is he still a member? ) .

How can I help financially to keep Mormon stories going, I would like to help!!!

      1. Morm9n marriage freedom includes polygamy. The mormon church has written many interesting things about marriage freedom on the. Topic of poligamy

  2. If someone is interested in exploring the continued use of Mormonism after a crisis of faith (aka becoming aware of all the tough issues), we run StayLDS.com for that purpose. There is a ton of support material, and forums are available to discuss just about any topic with others who are not going to freak out about your situation.

  3. Your 6 Responses above don’t seem to refer specifically to my needs, but I shall try this:

I left the Mormon Church several years ago, but what with all the conversation & news stories about sexual assaults in courts & in the general social media I find my own experiences rising to the surface of my awareness & feel as though they need some finishing up. I still need to deal with hurts & damage done quite a long time ago. For instance, I never had the chance to face my perpetrator with how I felt at the time of the first assault & on into the present with following events.
I am not interested in staying LDS nor returning, but I desperately need to deal with some resultant feelings.
I am tempted to go to the national press or to the popular groups such as Me Too or RAINN. I might even go to jurisdictions which are established to help victims who are older who have been assaulted by powerful men who continue to live free from allegations of rape & who have tributes to themselves & recognition of their successful contributions to society.
