This video begins part 1 of a 5 part interview with Anne B. Wilde: co-founder of Principle Voices, a support and advocacy group for Mormon Fundamentalist Polygamy. Anne herself practiced polygamy for around 30 years (though her husband recently passed way). She is an extremely articulate and thoughtful woman. Anyway, let me know what you think. I hope you enjoy! More to come.

Here we have an example of the twisted morality that Dawkins mentions in The God Delusion. This kindly articualte lady would, I think, condone murder, if it was to futher what she considers The Lords’ Cause.

I want to hear HER story. Hope we get to that, as that is what MormonStories is all about. :) All of this historical stuff: reasons for JS’s martyrdom, young wives, previously married wives is handled already in other podcasts, such as Todd Compton’s and in available historical materials.

Tell us about her experiences, inasmuch as she is prepared to share them!

Interesting that she refers to it frequently as a lifestyle instead of a commandment.

This was a very interesting interview, John. I was absolutely struck by the way she seemed to not think it was a big deal for religious leaders to lie to further their purpose. It seemed almost commonplace to her and not even a little bit suspicious in her mind. She seemed very nice and articulate. I really enjoyed hearing her point of view, no matter how misguided I think she is.

    John,

I commend you on your interview skills. You conducted yourself with a great deal of restraint and dignity which reflects well on you. Honestly, I found the comments of this women to be very disturbing. The word “disturbing” is a huge understatement as I am trying to show some restraint.

John, would it be possible to put an audio only version up, so we can listen on the ipod– it’s hard for me to have time to sit and watch the videos.

    John,

Maybe my comment is the same as Paula’s. I have figured out how to download most of the podcasts to my Ipod, but I have not been able to figure out how to get these last two.

If you have any good ideas for me and the one or two other not-so-savies, I would appreciate it.

    THanks

Full iPod Video and Audio, plus the remaining portions of the interview are coming soon!

Thanks for your patience. Having some technical problems.

Great…Didn’t know if the problem was on my end. I am patient and appreciative.

She seems very pleasant and articule and certainly informed on the subject but I HAVE to snort derisively when she explains “the law of Sarah.”

The man HAS to have the first wife’s consent…unless she doesn’t give it and then he can go ahead and do whatever he wants anyway.
